Henry on Superheroes
Greensboro, NC is not named so for it's gently rolling, green hills.
It's named for Major General Nathanael Greene who, in 1781, fought and
lost against British General Cornwallis at the Guilford Courthouse.
Although, Greene technically lost the battle, the damages he and his
small army inflicted on the British soon led to their defeat at Yorktown
which ended the Revolutionary War and won America it's independence.
Yes, the fate of this nation was decided in Greensboro, NC 226 years
ago, and it's celebrated at Guilford Courthouse National Park every year
in April. If you didn't make it out this year, don't worry...it'll
happen again next year and the park is open to visitors year round.
